Please be aware that this is a camping trip.
- Students will sleep in a tent that accommodates between and four and eight.
- Camping mats will be provided
- Students will need a warm sleeping bag as nights are often quite chilly

What to bring?
Please remember that students only camp for 2 nights so a medium sized suitcase or rucksack should be plenty!
If you pack every thing in the kit list along with 2-3 changes of outdoor clothing that should be enough.
There may be a tuck shop that opens for a short period in the evening. We suggest that students bring pocket money of no more than £10. Please note that the tuck shop is run by the centre and as such we do not control availability or opening times.
What to consider not bringing
Please note that students will not have access to power sockets and mobile phone coverage may not be good.
You should think hard about whether electronic items such as phones, ipods, games, ipads etc are appropriate. It is in the nature of camping trips that such items may be easily damaged or lost. They are not banned but I regret that staff will not accept responsibility for them.

Health Issues
Before we take your son or daughter on this trip you must fill in the medical form. Please examine this carefully and feel free to contact me if there are issues that you wish to discuss in more detail.
Medication
Many students require medication while on the trip. We ask that you send this to school well in advance of the trip with written instructions stating how much should be dispensed and when and under what circumstances. We would rather that students did not self-medicate.

Catering
- This is a fully catered trip
- Students will eat together in a marquee or canteen
- The centre can cater for a wide range of special dietary requirements if given sufficient warning so please use the medical form to let us know of these as soon as possible.
- Typical menu items include spaghetti bolognaise, chicken casserole, beef burgers etc.
- we would appreciate the help of parents in making clear to students that it will be necessary to eat well as days are long and they will need lots of energy.
Toilets and Showers
- these are located 2-3 minutes walk from our camp site
- there will be enough free time during the day for students to wash and shower
- students may need a torch at night time

Behaviour
I would like to make it clear that staff give their time voluntarily to make this visit possible. Also, that while on the visit students represent our school, our community and themselves. For these reasons we will insist on the highest standards of co-operation and behaviour. We ask that parent/carers support us by re-enforcing this message before students leave home.
I am proud to say that in all of the Residential trips I have run our students have behaved very well.
However, in extreme circumstances we reserve the right to ask a student to leave the trip. If this were to occur we would ask parent/carers to collect them from the site.
